Hint: Here, the words homogenous and heterogenous mixture are antonym to each other in terms of appearance (different phases). For this question, tabulate the differences among them starting with their definitions.

1. A homogeneous mixture is a blend in which the substances combine evenly, and its composition remains consistent throughout the entire solution. A heterogeneous mixture is a combination where the composition is not consistent throughout, and the individual components can be distinctly seen.
2. The parts of a homogeneous mixture are not visible to the naked eye. The components of heterogeneous mixtures are visible to the unaided eye.
3. In this mixture the component sizes are atomic/molecular level. In this mixture, the particles are large in size.
4. Components of homogeneous mixture cannot be separated easily. Components of heterogeneous mixture can be separated easily.
5. The individual particles in a homogeneous mixture have identical physical properties. The individual particles in a heterogeneous mixture have varying physical properties.
6. Example: salt solution, sugar solution, air, etc. For example: a mixture of salt and sugar, grains and pulses mixed with dirt particles (often small stones), etc.


Additional Information:  Colloids are heterogeneous, but they appear homogeneous because the particles in the mixture are extremely small, ranging from 1 nanometer to 1 micrometer.

Note:

1- In a homogeneous mixture the particles of solute are completely mixed in the layers of the solvent.
2- The size of particles is extremely small. Whereas in a heterogeneous mixture the solute particles settle on the bottom of the solvent.
3- The particle is also not too small. They do not intermix in the layers of the solvent.
