Chapter 6 – Thermodynamics
Chapter 6 – Thermodynamics explains the relationship between heat, work, and energy during physical and chemical processes. It introduces important concepts such as system and surroundings, types of systems (open, closed, isolated), internal energy, work, and heat. The chapter mainly focuses on the First Law of Thermodynamics, which is based on the law of conservation of energy.
Students also learn about enthalpy (ΔH), enthalpy changes in chemical reactions, exothermic and endothermic reactions, and Hess’s Law of Constant Heat Summation.
